There is no doubt that fall arrived! We had a long and beautiful summer in Toronto, but no matter how much I pretended that the summer will never end, cooler temperatures, rain and shorter days are definitely here. And with this, fall decor starts appearing one-by-one in our homes. Whether we add some deeper colour pillows, layer throws on chairs and sofas, or light those candles more often, we all need something that will make us feel less the chill in the air.
Life is busy, so my tips are simple and easy to implement, although they are powerful in creating a cozy space.
I like to use those little pumpkins in fall decor. I have several faux pumpkins that I bought a long time ago, and then I add to them white fresh pumpkins every year. My first tip is to place small pumpkins on top of candle holders.
I have this vignette at the entrance in our home, and I like to decorate it in a special way, because this is the first thing you see when you walk in our home. The pumpkins on top of the candle holders definitely put a smile on my face when I walk inside our home every day! Isn’t this fabulous?
I am not big on using the burnt orange colour for fall, I use orange sparingly, in combination with light colours and off-whites.
Fresh flowers and greenery from the garden is a tip well known when you want to bring the outdoors in. Why not use this one in the fall… Several cuttings from your trees will do.
Nothing says warmth more than adding gold or brass to your decor. One of my recent finds was this cute brass pineapple.
This tray includes so many fall decor elements, that every time I look at it I feel like lighting that candle and snuggling amongst pillows embraced by that throw.
Layering pillows and throws is something I like to do no matter the season. Deeper colours are nice to use in the fall for upping the coziness factor.
Isn’t that vignette on the left cute? Don’t be affraid to look around your home for decor items: that dusty pink rose is a headpiece that I mostly like to use in vignettes.
… and here is a bit more orange to remind ourselves that it is fall afterall 🙂
A flower and fruit centrepiece is something easy to achieve with a fabulous outcome.
Brass candles and tray add to the fall feeling – I couldn’t resist lighting these candles.
And there they are, just a handful of my fall decor tips that are easy, yet fabulous and with big impact.
